Mobile phones have increasingly become tools that consumers use for banking, payments, budgeting, and shopping. Given the rapid pace of developments in the area of mobile finance, the Federal Reserve Board began conducting annual surveys of consumers’ use of mobile financial services in 2011. This 78-page report, “Consumers and Mobile Financial Services” (March, 2015) examines trends in the adoption and use of mobile banking, payments, and shopping behavior and how the emergence of mobile financial services affects consumers’ interaction with financial institutions.
FonePays to Auction Mobile Payment Software
FonePays, a mobile payment software provider, will be sold to the highest bidder on July 8, 2011. The sale of the Software and other Intangible Assets is being conducted by Steve Geringer a technology consultant and licensed auctioneer. The FonePays software allows users to send money to one another using their mobile phones. FonePays completed development and beta test but was unable to continue operations due to lack of funding. FonePays Selling its Mobile Payments Technology Assets
Mobile Payments Technology Company, FonePays, LLC is seeking a buyer for its technology assets, which includes back-end server software, and front-end applications for the web, SMS messages, Android and iPhone platforms. In addition to the software, other assets include the FonePays’ documentation, registered trademark and domain name.
The sale of the Software and other Intangible Assets will be conducted by Steve Geringer a technology consultant and licensed auctioneer.
